Calgary Chiropractors | Regular Visits

Once it is determined that you will benefit from chiropractic care, subsequent visits aim to balance the nervous system and improve the structure and function of your spine.

Avoid relapse with regular visits.

In initial intensive care, visits are more frequent to gain momentum in the healing process. It takes time for ligaments and muscles to relearn new ways of moving and functioning. We we’ll monitor this process with progress exams every 12 visits.

Ninety five percent of the time we are on time and since we have reserved a time for you, we ask that you be on time so we may serve each practice member in a timely fashion.

Because our office is paperless, there will be no searching for your file. You carry with you a health card or key fob that enables us to access your file at any computer in the clinic! When a room is ready for you, you will be called into a room where you will swipe your card and lay down on the table. Relax. This is your time to prepare to receive your adjustment. The doctor will be with you shortly. As you lay on your stomach, measurement of the leg length equality will be made. Additional evaluation of posture may include shoulder height, hip height and deviation of the head to either side. When it is determined an area of the spine requires adjustment, a handheld instrument will be used to deliver a specific force with the appropriate speed and direction to correct your alignment.

The goal of the adjustment is not to try and fix everything all at once. Often in this approach, the nervous system becomes so overwhelmed it will not adapt at all. Instead, we look to correct the most prominent subluxation and let the body begin to adapt to the resulting changes.

Typical office visits can last anywhere from 5-15 minutes, depending on your individual requirements that day. Because we work with many families, we invite you to bring your loved ones with you. A child’s visit will vary slightly from the one described above, depending on their age.

Dr. Richard Asks some important questions of interest to Downtown Calgary residents - Chiropractor Downtown Calgary Dr. Richard Asks...

Is a muscle spasm a cause or an effect?
With the knee-jerk use of muscle relaxers, you'd think it was a cause. But it's an effect. Chiropractors know that bones don't move unless muscles move them. And muscles don't contract unless commanded by the nervous system. That's why your nervous system is the focus of our Downtown Calgary chiropractic practice.
What happens if you stop chiropractic care when you feel better?
Many Downtown Calgary folks recognize that this predisposes you to a relapse. Chiropractors know that muscles and ligaments supporting the spine don't fully heal until after symptoms subside.
