My purpose as a coach is to reduce suffering. Whether the pain related to suffering is physical, psychological or emotional I work with people to create new awareness and improve their circumstances. I am very interested in the challenges created by changes in health that occur due to injury and aging. I believe that developing resilience is key in our ability to have a fulfilling life when limitations arise interfering with our ability to do what we want and need to do.
Alongside my practice with individuals I do mentor coaching with post graduate students wanting to become wellness coaches through the Maryland University of Integrative Health. Wellness coaching is gaining momentum and facilitating the development of new coaches is a fulfilling endeavor for me.
I have been engaged with a group of nine other Integral Coaches™ in writing a book about coaching and healing for the past three years and we are on the verge of publishing our work. This work has caused me to delve into how taking a wellness perspective rather than the more common illness perspective can help people understand what is possible and how they can take action towards living life to the fullest extent possible.
