Dr. Richard Yoshimura has devoted his life to the improvement and maximization of
human health and well being. At the age of 14, he decided he was going to be a
chiropractor and healer and has never looked back. After studying biological sciences at
the University of Calgary, Dr. Yoshimura moved to Toronto for 4 years to pursue his
chiropractic education at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. At college he
served as the president of the Student Canadian Chiropractic Association. He was well
known for being involved in numerous extracurricular programs including philosophy
clubs, technique clubs, athletic clubs, and toastmasters. After graduating from college in
1996, he moved back home to Calgary with his wife Dr. Naomi Ichii. Since then, he has
helped thousands of people in three successful chiropractic offices in the city.
Dr. Yoshimura has a personal philosophy that true heath care is about teaching and
applying principles that that support maximization of human function. In other words,
give the human body the environment and building blocks that it needs to allow
expression of its true potential. “Our “healthcare” system is primarily focussed on
symptoms of disease or dysfunction.” says Dr. Yoshimura. “The mode of treatment for
these problems is mainly anti-symptom rather than finding the cause and supporting
return to normal, healthy function. My goal is always to identify the dysfunction that is
creating a person’s trouble and then help them to correct the problem to restore as much
normal function as possible.”
“I am continually learning and searching for the best this world has to offer to enhance
the health and well being of my family and my clients. My post graduate work at the
Mind-Body Institute at Harvard has been greatly influential in my knowledge and
understanding of the human condition. There is no question that the way we think, feel,
and act has direct impact on the quality of our health and our life’s experience. Since it
controls and coordinates all human functions, it is essential that our nervous system is
working at its best, as often as possible, throughout our lifetime.”
Clinically, Dr. Yoshimura uses gentle, low force spinal adjustment techniques. He is
skilled in Activator, Torque Release (Integrator), Bio-energetic Synchronization (BEST),
Chiropractic Biophysics (CBP), and Diversified techniques.
It has now been over 25 years since he made that commitment to chiropractic and the study of human performance and wellness.
Dr. Yoshimura loves to spend time with his wife, his three children, friends and family,
and with nature. Mountain biking is his favourite past time, yet he also enjoys
snowboarding, hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and reading.

Having headaches everyday was my “normal” until I spoke to a friend at the Chiropractic College who suggested I give Chiropractic a try. The results, after a few months of care were life-changing, and I was intrigued and inspired to become a Chiropractor.
More than 2 decades after graduating from CMCC in Toronto, I’m honoured to take care of so many wonderful people from hours-old infants, to adults 95 years-plus.
It’s humbling to see Practice Members whom we saw as kids, now bringing their own children in to be checked by us. I love witnessing how Chiropractic can help them live life better and enjoy what matters most.
Outside of the office, when not doing my side gig of being a part-time Uber driver for our 3 kids, I strive to walk my talk. My happy place outside of family time, is lifting weights, walking with my Doodle/4th child, and gardening in my self-constructed food forest.

I am a Chiropractor who employs a number of techniques depending on whom the patient is, what their concerns are and what their wishes are in terms of types of techniques and what their goals are.
I work a lot with all the extremities (feet, knees, hips, elbows, wrists and shoulders). Even when you don’t have pain in your feet I will look and adjust your feet and knees, the shock absorbers in your body.
I enjoy working in conjunction with your other health care providers for your best outcome! I believe strongly in working WITH the body, rather than forcing anything…I believe in SOLVING my patient’s body puzzles and getting to the ROOT of the PROBLEM. In addition, I enjoy teaching techniques to help patients stay well, enabling each to get as much as possible out of life!
