Make The Most Of Your Benefits Before They Run Out

Stopwatch next to the words Plan Ahead, a reminder to use extended health benefits before they reset on December 31st

This is your gentle reminder to check your remaining extended health benefits before they reset on December 31st. Many policies do not allow unused coverage to carry over into the new year—meaning if you don’t use them, you lose them!

Our team is here to help you finish the year feeling your best. We currently have openings for Chiropractic, Massage Therapy and Acupuncture & Reflexology. Our schedule fills up rapidly during November and December, so we highly recommend planning ahead to secure a time that works best for you.

Planning ahead? We’re already accepting appointments for the New Year, so you can get your preferred date and time booked in advance. It’s an easy way to stay on track with your care and make the most of your available benefits.

Curious about the treatments and services we offer? Give our front desk a call at 587-353-4569 or visit https://www.livelifebetter.ca/ to learn more.

Appointments can fill up quickly, so we encourage you to book early to save your preferred day and time.

Important Update: Changes in Alberta Blue Cross Group 66 Coverage:

Alberta Blue Cross logo for the Group 66 coverage changes update

Effective October 1, 2026, changes under Bill 11 require patients with both Alberta Blue Cross Group 66 coverage and private health benefits to use their available private benefits before Group 66 coverage can be applied to eligible services.

As a result, some patients may experience claim rejections or changes to their chiropractic coverage until their private benefits have been exhausted.

If you have any questions about how these changes may affect your coverage, please speak with our front desk team. We’re happy to help.

No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bars

Stacked no bake chocolate peanut butter protein bars topped with flaky sea salt

Materials:

  • 8×4 inch pan
  • Parchment paper
  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Small saucepan

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup of Peanut Butter (or any nut butter)
  • ¼ cup of Honey
  • 1 Tablespoon of Coconut Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
  • ⅓ cup of Flaxseed Meal
  • ½ cup of Protein Powder (we recommend Designs for Health Whey Cool – Vanilla or Chocolate. Ask your practitioner for a discount code to use online!)
  • 2.5 ounces of Dark Chocolate
  • Flaky Sea Salt for sprinkling on top (Optional)

Instructions:

Step 1: In a medium bowl mix together peanut butter, honey, coconut oil, and vanilla until smooth. Add in ground flaxseed meal and protein powder. Use a spoon to mix together until you can’t anymore, then use clean hands to help work together. The batter should be similar to cookie dough.

Step 2: Press into an 8×4 inch pan lined with parchment paper.

Step 3: Make the chocolate layer by adding 2.5 ounces of dark chocolate to a small saucepan and melting until completely smooth. Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer and tilt the pan so that the chocolate covers the peanut butter layer entirely.

Step 4: Place in the fridge for 30 minutes-1 hour before slicing into bars or squares. Store covered in the fridge until ready to eat. Bars will keep for up to two weeks.

Why Is Protein So Important?

High protein foods including chicken, salmon, beef, eggs, tofu, beans, nuts and yogurt

Imagine a world without protein. Our bodies couldn’t carry out many of the essential processes needed to keep us healthy and functioning every day!

Protein is one of the body’s essential building blocks. It provides the amino acids needed to build and maintain muscles, bones, skin, and other tissues. It also plays an important role in growth, tissue repair, and keeping our cells healthy.

But its benefits go far beyond building muscle! Protein helps the body produce antibodies to fight infections and creates transport proteins that carry essential substances throughout the body.

Our bodies are constantly breaking down and rebuilding tissues as part of their natural maintenance and repair processes. Since we don’t store protein in the same way we store fat or carbohydrates, getting enough through a balanced diet is important for supporting our overall health and well-being.

Looking for an easy protein boost? We highly recommend Designs for Health Whey Cool protein powder in Vanilla or Chocolate! Ask your practitioner for a discount code to save on your online order!
